I am an artist focused on Butoh dance, the dance of darkness where Eros and Thanatos meet, where one dances between light and shadow, between ecstasy and pain. I am interested in the complexities of eroticism and intimacy, not only the immediate sexual connection, but also the exploration of what really touches you, what excites you, especially the uniqueness of your desire that is outside of stereotypes and clichés. My perspective on intimacy suggests tenderness and vulnerability, radical openness, deep trust even in a stranger. We learn to be responsible for the way we relate, in a safe space for emotional contact. From there I approach shibari, not to objectify another, but to create a relationship of feeling/thinking/moving together. A relational eroticism in its echoing vital drive.
