About the event
Overview
For this month's rope yoga, we will be doing a solo flow themed around the summer solstice, with lots of chest/shoulder opening and room for reflection and intention setting. This flow will be a little faster paced than previous months, but still very beginner friendly. The class has been carefully created so each participant is in control of their own body and movements with room to experiment and explore within the poses. The flow can be modified to be more challenging (the ropes really keep your form accountable!) or more relaxing.
Required Rope Skills
We will be doing single column ties on wrists and ankles. We ask that participants can tie a single column ahead of the class. The type of single column doesn't matter too much, but we recommend a Somerville bowline since this is a non-collapsible knot that won't tighten over the course of the class. If you don't know how to tie a single column knot, please send a message and I can send instructional videos! We recommend 4 shorter ropes (~15ft) so that the rope is more manageable for yourself, but 30ft lengths will work too!
What to Bring
Yoga mat
4 ropes (suggested length: 15ft)
Water
Comfortable clothing to stretch and move
Limited rope and mats will be available for shared use.
How to Join!
To reserve your spot, submit payment via Venmo to @mbodyphl (include name and date of event in comment) or cash when arriving. The sliding scale suggestion is $10-30, but no one is turned away for lack of funds. Please note, this class is capped at 20 people.
