Tell us more about yourself as a shibari photographer?
Hi. I’m Knotty Experience. Half the day I am an engineer, the other half I am a shibari artist, erotic photographer, pleasure dom and erotic massage therapist.
I tie people up and offer photoshoots and massage, making sure my counterpart is receiving pleasure and experiencing presence.

What was your journey into this world?
Nude photography and shibari taught me many things. Vulnerability and surrender can be incredibly freeing, and that is beautiful. Vulnerability is a positive trait.
What turns you on?
Giving pleasure and making my counterpart relaxed and happy. Hearing their laughter and moaning. Eye contact. Presence.
What do the first 60 minutes of your day look like?
Eating fruit, drinking water, meditation and breathing.
Why do you do what you do?
I love contributing to people’s happiness. That contributes to a better world.
What is an unexpected pleasure you discovered in your work?
I have always liked to give. I discovered that receiving is also very nice. I have found out that I can be a switch.
What should more people know about your work?
Six years of shibari experience taught me a lot about consent. At the end of the day it is about having a good experience.
In the days after a session, we should have good memories rather than regret. Regret comes from poor communication, unclear boundaries and pushing someone’s limits. On this topic I could write ten pages, if not more.
