Firstly, I am so sorry you feel this way about intimacy and sex. I would encourage you to understand better what feeling “Numb” means for you. Is it a lack of physical sensation? Feeling emotionally disconnected? Mentally checked out? Or struggling to access desire or pleasure?

The first step really is to get curious about when the numbness started and what it means. Has it always been there, or is it something that’s changed over time?

Rather than focusing on trying to feel more during sex, take the pressure off sex altogether for a while. Spend time exploring what you need, why you feel this way, and maybe even do this with the support of a professional like a coach or therapist.

Most importantly, remember that pleasure and sex aren’t something you should force. Your body is often communicating that something needs attention, whether that’s stress, your relationship, your health, or simply a different way of approaching intimacy. Listening to that message with compassion is usually far more helpful than trying to push through it.
