Yoni Casting: what started as a curiosity became one of the most empowering artistic and body-positive experiences I've ever gifted myself!
Saturday, 11 a.m. The sun is shining, and I’m cycling through the streets of Berlin, dreaming about the new artwork I’ve decided to treat myself to: a golden cast of my vulva.
Weird? Yes.
Bold? Certainly!
Liberating? Absolutely!
After centuries of shame surrounding our vulvas and intimate parts, turning one into art feels like a little revolution. I must confess that when I saw Charly’s post in a group, it immediately caught my attention. My first thought was how special it would be to have this unique artwork in my bedroom, something to cherish for years to come.
When I spoke with Charly, I immediately felt her warmth, joy, and passion for supporting women on their journey of celebrating their bodies. She creates vulnerable and deeply intimate experiences that go far beyond the artwork itself.
I felt incredibly excited by the idea. And also a little ashamed to actually do it.
How would people perceive it? Would I show it to everyone who visited my apartment? Or would I hide it from curious eyes?

I loved how the experience challenged me. It stirred a little shame, a little guilt about celebrating myself “too much,” but also a sense of pride. Pride in doing something unconventional and perhaps inspiring other women to celebrate the beauty of their own vulvas by witnessing me celebrate mine.
So, all in all, I decided: yes, I would do it.
Charly welcomed me with such warmth that I immediately felt at ease. Very quickly, I trusted her completely and felt ready to embark on this experience with her.
After a lovely cup of tea and a chat, she guided me through an empowering meditation that helped me arrive fully in the present moment.
She then asked whether she could take a moment to simply look at my vulva before making the cast. I noticed a little shame arising again, simply observed it, and let it pass.
It felt incredibly vulnerable, yet also deeply affirming to be seen and appreciated exactly as I am.
Charly handed me a mirror so I could observe my vulva and position it the way I wanted it to be immortalised. It felt a bit like taking a selfie and deciding whether I would smile, make a duck face, or do neither but this time it was for a vulva portrait in plaster! This was a moment I’ll never forget.
Charly uses medical-grade materials that are completely safe and hypoallergenic.
The sensation of the casting material being applied was surprisingly pleasant. The whole process was playful and enjoyable. There was something wonderfully surreal about lying there with my legs open, waiting for it to dry, knowing that a unique piece of art would emerge from it.

I found myself daydreaming about where I would place it.
On my altar in the living room?
Hanging on the wall of my bedroom?
In the end, I decided to create a special space just for it: a place where my vulva could stand alone, proud, facing my bed, quietly inspiring delicious dreams.
For generations, women have been taught to hide, judge, compare, or even dislike this part of themselves. Spending an afternoon transforming mine into art felt like an empowering act of self love.
Whether you choose to display it proudly or keep it entirely private, the process itself invites a different relationship with your body: one of curiosity, acceptance, and celebration.
I couldn’t recommend Charly more as the best vulva artist and pleasure activist one can meet!
