From being forced into a Christian cult at the age of 12, Sophia Domina has come a long way, though she has always been an alpha deep down.

An LA Dominatrix, writer, director and event producer, Sophia offers services in-person and online such as role play, discipline, sex therapy and immersive theatre. Her new erotica novel ‘Domme & Dommer’ is available to buy here.

Could you introduce yourself and what you do?

A

I am Sophia Domina, a Los Angeles pro Dominatrix, event producer, filmmaker, and author of “Domme & Dommer,” my forthcoming erotica novel.

How would you describe your approach to being a dominatrix?

Meet LA dominatrix: Sophia Domina

As a dominatrix, I embody the feminine divine in the archetypes of Queen, Mother, and Disciplinarian with a bit of a sadistic streak. I am naturally sensual and feline.

I enjoy the theatre of kink and the depth of passion and desire that can be expressed in the safe space I engender for submissives. I practice SSC/RACK and I tailor my sessions very particularly to reflect the unique kink sync with each respective client.

What specific services do you offer as a Dominatrix?

I offer a variety of experiences at Domton Abbey, my penthouse “dungeon.” I always start out with slave positions training.

Submissives provide domestic service (cooking, cleaning, handyman projects), foot worship, and pampering (bathing, massage). I offer impact play, latex worship, sissification, feminization, and humiliation, to name a few! I adore role play, CFNM, and all types of objectification.

Alongside my in-person domination, I do digital Domming via text, email, phone, and video.

What was your journey into this world?

A

I was a forced into a Christian cult at 12. Became a missionary on Guam. Broke free in 2018 and began a new life in LA when I found myself on a date with a lifestyle dominatrix who dubbed me a “Baby Domme.”

I knew very little about sex, much less BDSM, but I had been an Alpha all my life. D/s was a language I had been innately practicing without knowing the words.
I began learning from her, developing relationships in the lifestyle until I went pro and became a dominatrix in 2021.
I ficitionalized my wild transformation in my debut erotica novel, “Domme & Dommer.”

What makes a dominatrix session special to you?

A

Connection. Creating a safe space for someone to express a vulnerable, hidden part of themselves. My submissives journal to me beforehand and it provides a window into their core motivations. It is special for them because it reveals things they may have never been aware of deep in their psychosexuality.

What is a small unexpected pleasure about being a dominatrix?

Presenting myself as a dominatrix to the world has strengthened my love of self and confidence. It has emboldened me to stand up to toxic masculinity and advocate for myself in ways I might not so readily do!
I also love mentoring women into their own power, whether they are dominant or submissive.

Tell us something that you wish more people knew about being a domme?

A

Domination is very nurturing and healing. I am not a huge sadist, but even in sadism, there can come healing and empowerment.

The Domme/sub dynamic is intimate and unique, often helping people touch parts of themselves even therapy may not.

What have you learned about yourself and secondarily, about life from being a dominatrix?

A

Through being a dominatrix, I’ve learned that though my specific kinks may change, I am kinky as a sexual orientation. It’s very much like being queer. I was born this way, my parents nurtured a playful, dominant spirit in me (before the cult) and I can’t go back to trying to conform to society’s sexual or behavioral definition of a woman.

All people are a mix of Alpha and beta qualities. It’s helpful to self-examine and lean into the areas where you want to be more commanding or more yielding!

Advice for newbie dominatrices?

A

Spend time playing with your friends and lovers. Read not only about domination but psychology, especially the shadow self (Jungian psychology). Experiment. And session with experienced dominatrices. Real domination begins in the mind, so start there rather than just with impact play skill sets.
