I’m Katarsis, a dominatrix, shibari artist, and erotic educator.

What was your journey into this world?
I first stepped in through Paris’s swinger scene—curious, though it wasn’t quite my flavor.
Everything shifted when I met Maylis Castet, a dominatrix who became my mentor. She taught me how to be playful and commanding at the same time, and how to think visually—composing sessions so the body becomes an image, a mood, a moment of beauty.
From there I moved into the sex-positive community, where I finally felt at home: consent-centered, embodied, and creative. It’s also where I met my life partner, David Marius; together we explore kink, study ropes and deepening our skills.
He also introduced me to erotic hypnosis, a niche discipline in which he’s a known figure. That lineage—mentorship, community, partnership—shaped my practice: art-driven, consent-led, and devoted to turning sensation into living sculpture.
What do the first 60 minutes of your day look like?
Meditation, a few sun salutations, then a swim in the sea. Salt water resets me, I love starting the day rinsed clean, mind fresh, body awake.
What is an unexpected pleasure you discovered in your work?
Knife play. I adore sculpting tension: the whisper of steel, the shiver of fear meeting trust.
Perhaps not so unexpected, I was a dental surgeon in a former life, so I’ve always had an intimate relationship with sharp tools, steady hands, and calm intensity.
Why do you do what you do?
Because desire deserves beauty… and honesty. I’m endlessly curious about how people love, what opens them, and the stories their bodies carry.
My work is to make space for sexploration: to witness, to guide, and to craft clear, consent-led containers where people can meet themselves with delight and courage.
