As I see it, massage therapy is about holding space. My clients allow me to meet them in a place of incredible vulnerability, and it is my job to meet them there with compassion, respect, and a desire to see them thrive. Without this, I would just be pushing muscle tissue around. While this might be helpful, it would fall short of having a deep impact.
