Melissa D. has been a mother, a stripper, a raw foods chef running a restaurant in Los Angeles, and now one of Austin’s most sought-after somatic sex educators and intimacy coaches. Her work starts where most therapy stops: from the neck down, helping people who have done all the mindset work and still feel a gap, back into their bodies, their desire, and each other.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Attuned. Provocative. Playful.

Tell us more about yourself and what you do

I’m a somatic sex educator and hands on intimacy coach based in Austin TX.

My work blends sexological bodywork, nervous system awareness, and relational practices to help people feel more at ease in their bodies and more connected in their intimate lives.

I work with individuals and couples, often high-functioning, thoughtful people who have done the mindset work but still feel a gap when it comes to embodied intimacy or exploring new edges.

Together, we slow things down, build more levels of awareness, and expand capacity for pleasure, connection, and choice. Instead of focusing on performance, I teach people how to talk, touch and play that feels both safe and exciting.

What services do you provide on Sensuali?

I offer private Day-long erotic immersive experiences that combine somatic coaching, guided touch practices, intimacy education and play.

This can include working with communication, desire mapping, arousal patterns, boundaries, body pleasure mapping, and relational dynamics. For couples, I often guide structured experiences that help them explore connection and touch in a more intentional, attuned way instead of spicing things up by saying “Just buy a new toy!”

Each coaching session is exquisitely tailored, with a strong emphasis on desire, cellular consent, pacing, nervous system awareness and of course play!

For those desiring an individual session, I offer luxurious sensual massage experiences, conscious kink experiences, Sexological Bodywork sessions for re patterning the body, virtual self touch, self stroke meditation sessions and laser coaching sessions aka 30 min focused sessions that support those who need it.

“I just saved hours of therapy and online research by booking this call with you!” My last client boasted after our laser call.

What turns you on?

Presence. Someone who is actually in their body and in the shared moment.

Curiosity, attunement, and the willingness to slow down enough to feel what’s real instead of rushing toward a specific goal or outcome.

There’s something deeply compelling about someone who can both lead and listen.

Someone who knows themselves deeply, is aware of their shadows and has the skill to explore the depths…

What was your journey into this world?

It came through contrast.

I saw how many people, myself included at times; could be successful, self-aware, emotionally intelligent, sexual, and expressive and yet still feel deeply disconnected in their intimate lives in some way.

I’m currently writing a collection of vignette stories from my personal life — chapters that span being a mother, a stripper, a raw foods chef running a restaurant in Los Angeles, and now a body-based sex educator. Each chapter reflects a different doorway into understanding my body, connection, desire, shadow aspects and my own feeling of belonging.

I was drawn to modalities that work “from the neck down.” Somatic practices, sexological bodywork, conscious kink, and well-held group erotic experiences gave me a language and a pathway that talk-based approaches alone couldn’t reach alone.

Over time, this became both my personal path and the foundation of my work in the world.

What do the first 60 minutes of your day look like?

Slow and intentional.

On weekdays I give myself space before engaging with the outside world which means there is usually some combination of stretching around in bed, dancing in the kitchen and checking in with my body before my mind kicks into “passionate work mode” which can happen quickly. I then move into spending quality morning time with my 16 year old son by cooking him breakfast and simply being with him before he heads to school and I go to the “office.”

I notice the days where I deeply orienting to myself first thing, so I’m not immediately in GO mode, there’s enough of that in my day. On the weekends when my son is gone to his father’s house I enjoy a different type of morning. I relish in slow mornings with my lover… soft light, deep breaths… cuddles and kisses and sometimes deliciously fucking each other open to “God”.

Why do you do what you do?

What I “do” is a natural extension of who I am. I “teach” by modeling ways of being by simply being myself. Secondly, and this is where a lot of people struggle.

You can be successful, partnered, even “happy” on paper and still feel disconnected from your body, your desire, or your partner and a passionate existence in general.

I do this work because it’s who I AM and when people shift into a more present, more meaningful, more truthful life, it changes more than their sex life. It changes how they relate to themselves, the world, their confidence, and how they show up in every area of life and in community. Basically it’s all for world peace 😉

What is an unexpected pleasure you discovered in your work?

How much relief people feel when they realize they don’t have to perform in some way.

There’s a moment where someone drops out of “doing” and or enduring and into actually feeling and that is where the magic is found.

What should more people know about your work?

That it’s not about fixing something that’s broken.

It’s often as simple as building capacity, learning how to feel more, communicate more clearly, and stay present with sensation and connection.

Also, that this work can be structured, grounded, and professional. It doesn’t have to be vague, performative or woo woo.

What’s your superpower?

It’s like reading the glowing green code flickering in the Matrix. I have the ability to read what’s happening beneath the surface especially in the body and helping people feel safe enough to stay with it rather than bypass it. It doesn’t hurt that I am pleasantly disarming which then allows people to be able to go deep within themselves.

We love vices. What’s yours?

Ha! My top vice is a well made cappuccino, next would be swoon scrolling what shows up on my IG feed and “checking out” for a period of time. Another few would be Chocolate HU Bars and Intensity.

I have a natural pull toward a sort of primal depth and charged experiences that hit deep. The practice, for me, has also been learning to balance intensity with more stillness, sensitivity, and a state of non-Doing.

Who are your sensual inspirations?

Music, movement, art in many forms, nature, of course. Teachers and educators who bring integrity to this field.

Also, frankly, my clients. Literally witnessing people learn how to inhabit their bodies more fully is endlessly inspiring…

Closing thoughts?

Most people don’t need more information, they need more direct felt experience.

The body learns through feeling, not just understanding up in the mind. When you change your relationship to sensation, presence, and connection, everything else tends to reorganize from there.
