Absolutely! I love teaching anyone who is keen to explore rope as a tool for play no matter their background of rope school and experience level. This includes folks of any size, gender, shape, age and ability - provided you have a level of dexterity in your hands you will be fine!

Definitely - there will be rope on the day that you can purchase, class rope to borrow if you can't afford any, or reach out and I can send you recommendations if you have specific desires for other sorts of rope.

About the event

Floor flow/Self Tying 101 is the entry level class of Himboy's self suspension series, with a focus on developing basic rope handling skills, and considerations of different modalities of self tying, with the aim to build a self-sufficient and explorative practice. The class will start with some 101 skill building/refreshing including, single column ties, inline cuffs and frictions, and basic safety to cover the start of your self tying journey.

From there we will explore how to apply these skills to hold ourselves in rope and regulate our nervous systems. Through the containment of the ropes, gentle movement and meditative breath work, participants will settle into themselves and lean into holding themselves with a deeper sense of trust and vulnerability.

The class will finish with some guided rope meditation, allowing you to sink deeply into your body and meet yourself where you are with kindness and curiosity. Please be aware that self tying can be physically and/or emotionally demanding, so it is suggested that you bring snacks, drinks and any other aftercare needs.
