Angie Enger is a New Jersey-based intimacy and pleasure coach offering virtual coaching for women and femmes. She combines embodiment, nervous system regulation and practical guidance to help clients reconnect with their bodies and desires. Her philosophy? Pleasure is a practice, not a reward.
For intimacy and pleasure coach Angie Enger, pleasure isn’t something we need to earn. It’s something we can practise, even in the smallest moments of everyday life.
Based in Maplewood, New Jersey, Angie works with women and femmes who feel disconnected from their bodies and desire. With a background in counselling and training in embodied intimacy and relationship coaching, she helps clients turn self-awareness into practical, lived experiences.
We spoke to Angie about her unexpected journey from marketing to intimacy coaching, the importance of slowing down and why her garden is one of her greatest sensual inspirations.

I’m Angie Enger, an Intimacy and Pleasure Coach based in Maplewood, NJ. I have an MA in Counseling and am a certified Embodied Intimacy and Relationship Coach.
I work with women who are smart, self-aware, and have usually already spent time in therapy, but their body hasn’t gotten the message yet.
That’s the part we do together.

What turns you on?
AngieEnger
A woman who finally stops apologizing for wanting more. A warm breeze through my hair. My garden in the morning before anyone else is awake.

What was your journey into this world?
AngieEnger
Despite training in human sexuality in graduate school, I spent 15 years in marketing before I finally felt too restless and unfulfilled to keep going. Then one night under the stars and the waxing gibbous moon the evening of January 1, 2023 I envisioned silk bondage ties to encourage pleasure seekers to experiment with bondage and restraint in a way that was inclusive, accessible and decadent. From there, the conversations with my customers and then clients just got deeper and more transformative.
What do the first 60 minutes of your day look like?
AngieEnger
After getting my daughter off to school and set for the day, I water my garden, light a candle at my altar, sometimes pull a tarot card.
I try to practice what I preach, slowly enjoying my coffee and breakfast. I don’t open my laptop until 11am and I protect that boundary like it’s sacred, because it is. (Unless my kid is home sick, or we need groceries, or….#momlife gets in the way)

Why do you do what you do?
AngieEnger
Because I watched too many women spend their whole lives waiting to feel better before they let themselves feel good.
Pleasure isn’t a reward, it’s a practice, and most of us were never taught that.

What is an unexpected pleasure you discovered in your work?
AngieEnger
I get to meet such a wide variety of incredible humans, all coming from different places with different concerns, and yet one simple core ties everyone together – we all just want to feel normal and loved.

What do you wish more people knew about the practice you specialise in?
AngieEnger
Most of my clients are in couples and/or individual therapy when they come to me, looking for help that is more tailored and specialized than what they’re already getting. Most of my clients are also extremely capable, successful and thriving in other parts of their lives.
I’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, heard the speakers and can translate all of this into something practical and actionable that you can actually use, realistically in your own real life.

We love vices. What’s yours?
AngieEnger
Buying art supplies, not feeling the least bit guilty about a second of pleasure I feel.
Isobel Clark
Who are your sensual inspirations?
AngieEnger
Clarissa Pinkola Estés for the way she writes about women’s wildness. Anaïs Nin for unapologetic interiority. My garden, honestly, nothing teaches you more about ripening on your own timeline than watching something grow.

Closing thoughts?
AngieEnger
I only work with women and femmes. And I make papier-mâché amphoras in my spare time and I think that says everything about how I approach this work. You are the vessel- what are you filling it with?
